Jane Caporal, along with 5 other Row Venice instructors and voga veneta champions who rowed with members of the Richmond Bridge Boat Club<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0the 2018 Vogalonga (the 30km rowing event held in Venice each spring)<\/span>\u00a0traveled across the Channel this weekend. They are participating in a sporting\/cultural exchange\u2014including their first lesson in sit-down rowing\u00a0along the beautiful autumn Thames<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks also to Sylvia Wicks for hosting us in her two\u00a0dg\u0127ajjes<\/em>\u00a0(the rare, traditional Maltese water taxi) and the chance to try these unusual boats, normally rowed with two people standing up, Venetian style, and two sitting down, facing them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tomorrow we are all headed to Oxford for the rowing we know best, the Voga alla Veneta.<\/span><\/p>\n
